Legs Assist Mobility for Disabled

The legs are called HAL and they’ve recently received Japanese government approval for worldwide distribution and testing. Yeah, I know, it would be the perfect plan to take over the world. But before that happens, think about the benefits for our immobile patients out there. Up until now, if we can’t get them up and walking, they end up in scooters and wheelchairs which don’t do anything for their immobility health issues. They’re just sedentary while they drive around.

In the case of the HAL robot legs, the person will be up and moving at least partially on their own power. Their arms and torso will be engaged in movement, too, getting around the issues many of us have with scooters and wheelchairs for the partially mobile. There’s a lot of testing and work yet to be done before we’ll see these on the street but I though you should be aware of the potential benefits of something like this on the horizon so you can keep your eyes open for it
